Ever found yourself at the proverbial cross roads? You can go left. Or right. Did success bring you to this moment? Or perhaps it was struggles that have left you deciding right or left? You see success and failure often lead us to the same feeling. The feeling of being stuck. I have been there many times in my life. I have a heart for helping others get un-stuck. To get back moving again. To find the right path - and walk that path with excellence.
I have worked in faith based organizations for over 25 years. In these places I found that culture matters a whole lot. What type of culture do you work in? Do you feel like you belong inside your organization? Several years ago I worked for an organization that had lots of volunteers. I began to wonder why some volunteers grew to the point of being asked to be on staff or lead other volunteers. Then I saw volunteers burn-out for some reason. I started asking questions and trying to learn about behaviors that lead to one of these outcomes. I found the beginning and the end. We join - lots of things. The beginning. We also have an innate desire to belong - find our people. The end. So we intuitively know how to join and want to belong. But what happens in the middle of this cycle. Through this I developed the Cycle Of Belonging - this process we all naturally go through as individuals. I now help organizations and teams learn how to develop a culture of belonging as I believe a culture of belonging will out perform any other type of culture over time.
I was once a "star player" - a high performer within the company I worked for at the time. After a few years I was able to hire a direct report. This person quit 10 months later and the main reason is I was not a good person to work for. I promised myself I would never let that happen again. Fast forward about 10 years and I was recognized as the best people leader within my organization. Most of us are trained to be great performers, but less so to be great leaders. I want to help develop and grow great leaders. I have a proven track record of being a great leader and I have done that by caring, coaching, and correcting.
Marketing. What is marketing? I call it the non-scientific study of human behavior. Marketing is about giving people a reason to care. I have been doing marketing professionally since my early 20's. I have learned a lot since I started, and while the principles of marketing really haven't changed much over the years, consumer behavior has changed and there are more ways to reach people now than ever before. But it still starts with having a clear vision, creating the right strategies, and then executing the right tactics. I have a passion for connecting heart into marketing, telling a compelling story, and connecting brands and products with the right consumers.
I do all this under the umbrella of Prime Dialogue. Prime means best in class. Dialogue means through words - relationship. My purpose is to build best in class organizations and people through words and relationship.
